We decided to go out to dinner the day before Valentine's Day this year to avoid some of the crowds. We also decided to be adventurous and try somewhere new. We went to this semi-fancy Mexican place downtown called El Vez. Unfortunately we forgot to bring our camera with us, so forgive the quality/lighting in these pictures. We only had cell phone cameras with no flash.
It's a Stephen Starr restaurant, if anyone is familiar with him.
We started our dinner with chips and salsa, a must-have for us at any Mexican place. We give these chips and salsa a thumbs up.
I enjoyed a virgin strawberry margarita.
For our entree, we decided on the tacos for 2. They brought the taco fillings out in this enormous cast iron griddle/pan.
We got beef and chicken, and boy were they good. Yum yum tacos.
One of the best parts of it all is that it only cost us $12. We had a gift card and a rewards check that we were able to use to make our fancy dinner affordable. Thanks to my amazing husband for such a fun and fancy night out on the town for Valentine's Day.
