On our second day in Lyon, we split up. Zack's parents and Sam went to explore some areas nearby where Sam had served his mission. Zack, Clara, and I continued to explore Lyon. We started the day at a leisurely pace by riding the venicular up the big hill to the Gallo-Roman museum. We intended to get something to eat on the way up there, but it didn't end up working out, and I was hungry and cranky by the time we arrived. We still had a great time exploring the museum.
Outside, we got a chance to explore the ruins of the Roman amphitheater up close.

We spent the rest of our time just walking around and taking in shops. We bought some diaper rash cream, which turned out to be the best cream I have come upon. I just ran out of it recently, which is so sad because they don't sell it in the states and it's kind of ridiculously expensive to have it shipped here. Silly thing to note I guess, but it's what I remember.
We returned to our hotel early that evening, grabbed some stuff from the supermarket to make pasta, barely made it back before a downpour started, and watched the Olympics. We turned in early. It was so nice to have a low key evening.
